Mechanical finishing

Raising: The textile surface is raised by metal teasels. These are small hooks which penetrate into the textile lifting up yarn filaments without destroying the article. In this way we create a pile of fibres which covers the whole or almost the whole of the basic surface of the material, resulting in a soft and fleecy feel.
Emerising: In this process the article is put at high tension over running rollers which are covered with emery paper. This rapid rubbing action gives the article a suede or peach skin surface.
