layer may consist of one or more layers of clothing.The
main purpose of the middle layer(s) is insulation providing
warmth. The middle layer
is often described as warmth clothing.

Outer layer for protection: The outer layer protects the wearer from
the elements, particularly rain and wind, but also from the sun, cold, heat, UV rays
and mechanical influences
(abrasion).
It is the functional interaction of all these layers
which creates the optimum microclimate, enabling the wearer to enjoy his or her activities – dynamically, efficiently
and comfortably.
